We included top high school art students in the planning process. . Everyone got to discuss and then vote for his or her choice.  The students that proposed the top three designs shared the leadership role in the studio. The mural, consisting of more than 12 different panels, involved the participation of 160 students. Students painted and assembled the project for three weeks. The mural was so big that we were fortunate to get a 60-degree weekend in February to piece the mural together outside for the final touches.
