The goal was to design an intimate, refined upscale neighborhood bistro that framed the gourmet food prepared by world-renowned mushroom chef and restaurateur Jack Czarneki and his wife, Heidi. To create all this in a long and narrow space we hand washed the plastered walls with three different warm yellow orange paints, used the existing window frames for showcasing glass work, and designed a wide dark wood boarder for the floor. Runyeon was commissioned to create contemporary stained glass for the front façade that incorporated their initials , the address of the bistro and some of their favorite things : wine and music. We lit the interior with soft alabaster dome light and filled the walls with original artwork.
