A Note About Jane Runyeon

For the past 25 plus years, Runyeon's relationship with the art world has kept her on the move. She continues to exhibit every year. For a decade she taught as an adjunct professor at Albright College in Reading, Pennsylvania, and she has served on the board of directors for the Reading Public Museum.  Her work reflects this active lifestyle. Corporate and private collections around the world own Runyeon's work .

Although the artwork of Jane Runyeon is as diverse as her lifestyle, it reflects the universal quality of all sublime art by taking the viewer into the subject.

All of Runyeon's works reflect her tenacious love of the creative process. The brushstrokes of paint reveal the artists hand at work. Recurring themes include the landscape, the sky scape and the changing of the seasons. She paints in large series with titles as varied as The Forest, (seen here), Moon Tablets, Partial Eclipse, Drake's Channel and Times I have Thought of You.  "Love Letters," explores nostalgic glimpses into the past. The idea was ignited when Runyeon opened an old weathered diary and found a note from someone she had long since forgotten. She believes, "You can see and feel  the darkness and the lightness, one helps to define the other." She often makes diptychs for that reason.
In her teen years, Runyeon studied art history in Florence, Italy. She continued her education at Indiana University, Bloomington followed by a year of independent study at the Rhode Island School of Design. The University of Cincinnati awarded her an MFA in 1981.

Often you find Runyeon in her studio standing dwarfed by a huge canvas . At other times you will find her amidst drawings, drills, and stuff from the flea markets as she works on assemblages or stained glass. She may be sitting at her desk talking to other artists or clients about an art project. One of her many projects is the development of the website all2art.com.

Runyeon gathers accomplished artists from around the globe to offer a diversity of artistic viewpoints on her website. All2art offers the services and artwork of seasoned portrait artists, landscape artists, design artists, ceramic artists, glass artists and a variety of contemporary and abstract artwork.

Other recent projects undertaken by Runyeon include curating  the yearly art exhibitions at the Sovereign Center, a combined sports and entertainment arena recently completed in the city of Reading, Pennsylvania. She is currently developing art collections for several corporate clients. The transformation of company products into corporate fine art intrigues Runyeon. She believes that "an assemblage of company artifacts solidifies a corporate image. Exhibited in the corporate offices, clients and employees can view the development of the company through their products transformed into artwork. This aids the company in demonstrating their innovation, pride and stability."

Runyeon has received many awards. Her work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including the permanent collection of the Reading Public Museum.
